DIY: painted succulent planters

You know how I love reaaally like simple DIYs? like, two-step-simple? Well, I do. And I also finally live in a climate that can sustain succulents AND I happened to thrift this stack of tiny pots for basically free, which is how these adorable little planters were born.
So easy: tape your pots into a design, paint within, let dry, and plant your favorite succulents or cacti with  little bit of extra potting soil and water. I used paint I had lying around the house and bought 2 inch succulents for 1.99 each at a local nursery. They recommended watering them once a week.
We have a little bit of concrete space in front of our apartment (glamorous, I know) where I'd already started a mini-garden with an herb pot and a pallet box (which I found for free) holding some paperwhites & wildflower seeds from a wedding. I think these little guys make it complete! I love seeing them when I come home! Now here's hoping I don't kill them. I didn't quiiiiite inherit my mama's green thumb.

  1. Aw these turned out so cute. I definitely can't wait to have a place where I can have herbs and plants like this. There's just no light in my apartment - nor outdoor space! You made it work though!
